My history

As long as I can remember, I've been overweight. As a child, I remember my parents always getting after me about my weight. When I was in high school, I was teased because of my weight.

After school, it just kept getting worse and worse.

By the time I was 35 years old I weighed 396 lbs.

I made the decision to have gastric bypass surgery. I went in on February 15, 2006. That was the day my life was saved. After my surgery my doctor told me that my liver was showing early signs of cirrhosis but with weight loss that should reverse itself. In one year I had lost 160 lbs.

Sadly, I didn't make the life style change I needed to and the weight started coming back on. I put on 60 lbs of what I had lost.

When I hit 300 lbs., I finally decided enough was enough and I decided to make the life style change. I started watching what I was eating and started exercising. I have now lost 73 lbs.

I still have about 60 lbs to make it to my goal weight. The best thing that has happened it that I'm now off my blood pressure medication.

I will keep this updated periodically with news and pictures.
